At Four Paws One Direction we believe that a good early education is essential in helping your pup grow into a well balanced adult dog, and so have invested a lot of time and effort into developing our Puppy Academy curriculum.

We aim to provide you with the knowledge and training skills you need as well as helping build the relationship between you and your pup so that you might fully enjoy each other’s company.

Our ‘Infants’ course is 8 weeks long, and you and your pup will learn how to work together as a team to learn a range of basic behaviours.

Puppy Academy: Infants

• 8 week course
• £58 per pup
• Handout sheets included
• Small class size - maximum of 6-8 pups
• Suitable for pups 8 to 20 weeks of age at enrolment
• All training done using positive training methods
• Exercises covered include: lead walking, coming when called, teaching self-control, how to play safely, teaching ‘trade’, handling, building confidence through safe pieces of  equipment, and lots of fun activities
• Topics covered include: how to use a crate effectively, house training, puppy biting, levels of exercise, teething stages, food guarding, and the importance of socialisation

• 6.30pm Tuesday 3rd January 2012 - fully booked
• 7.30pm Tuesday 24th January 2012 - almost full
• 6.30pm Tuesday 28th February 2012 - taking bookings
• 7.30pm Tuesday 20th March 2012 - taking bookings

For those signed up to the ‘Infants’ course we are also offering one-off ‘Puppy Social, Training and Play’ sessions in our field in Camerton.

These sessions will give your pup the chance to play with other pups in a secure area fully enclosed by netting and under expert supervision. The sessions will also consist of a few simple training exercises, teaching your pup to come to you away from the distraction of the other pups, and will allow the chance to continue the confidence building skills started in class by using some new pieces of equipment in a new environment. Sessions will cost £6 per pup.

Come and join the ‘after school’ club!

Socialisation and training doesn’t end once the Infants course is finished, and in fact is an ongoing lifelong learning process, so why not come and join our Junior classes to continue the fun?

Do you have a new puppy that’s too young for classes but you need some help or advice? Shelley is now offering to do home visits to come and help your pup settle in and answer your questions. Click for details
